Kevin Conroy Biography
Actor Kevin Conroy was born in the United States on November 30, 1955, and he died on November 10, 2022. He was most known for lending his voice to the DC Comics superhero Batman in a variety of mediums, starting with the 1990s Warner Bros. television programme Batman: The Animated Series. In addition, he lent his voice to a variety of other DC Animated Universe television shows and motion pictures.
Due to the popularity of his portrayal of Batman, Conroy went on to voice the superhero in several animated movies released by DC Universe Animated Original Movies as well as in the critically acclaimed video games Batman: Arkham and Injustice.
Early life
On November 30, 1955, in the American hamlet of Westbury, New York [1], Conroy was born into an Irish Catholic family. When he was about 11 years old, his family moved to Westport, Connecticut.
Conroy moved to New York City in 1973 after being given a full scholarship to enrol in the Juilliard School’s drama programme. He was instructed there by John Houseman, a famous actor. He stayed there with Robin Williams, who was in the same group as Conroy and Kelsey Grammer, and they shared a room.
He was there at that time. [4] After getting his Juilliard degree in 1978, he embarked on a tour with The Acting Company, Houseman’s acting ensemble. He took part in Ira Levin’s Deathtrap’s national tour the year after that.
Career
Theatre
Conroy decided to seek a career in television in 1980 and moved to California in order to accomplish so. In the daytime soap opera Another World, he was chosen to play a different role. Conroy first got involved with the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, California, where he took part in the stagings of Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream before going on to work there. He made appearances as an actor in a variety of classic and contemporary stage productions between the years 1980 and 1985,
including the Broadway adaptations of Lolita and Eastern Standard by Edward Albee. In a conversation with The New York Times, he asserted that, as a gay man in New York City at the height of the AIDS epidemic, he “went through hell and back” and
to so many funerals that I felt such a sense of obligation” to play a TV producer in Eastern Standard who was hiding the fact that he was infected with AIDS.
Film and television
In addition to appearing in an episode of the daytime serial series Search for Tomorrow, he made his comeback to television in the 1985 film Covenant. Conroy played gay attorney Bart Fallmont on the television series Dynasty from 1985 to 1986. He had recurring roles in the television series Ohara in 1987 and Tour of Duty from 1987 to 1988, where he played the company commander, before going on to act in a number of television movies. While the show was being filmed in Hawaii, his role was reduced.

Conroy is notable for being the first voice actor to portray Bruce Wayne and Batman with two distinct voices. In Tim Burton’s live-action Batman movies, Michael Keaton had already performed this, but Conroy is the first voice actor to do so in a voice-acting role.
Conroy has portrayed Batman for a longer length of time than any other actor, taking into consideration all of the live-action and animated films and television shows that have featured the character.
